Will Limited Foreign Language Credits Hurt Admission Odds?

Question: My student (a 9th grader) is grappling with just how many superior papers reviews many years of foreign language to take in school that is high. Since it is an elective, it limits her choices to just take other items, like continuing in orchestra or exploring the STEM-Project Lead the way in which program. Will there be any trend or motion in university admissions to replace the original year that is 2-4 language demands with fine arts courses or other coursework? How will you suggest that pupils prepare to meet a language that is foreign, when they do not know just what college they’ll affect yet?! Is there any wiggle room into the university admission/application procedure if a pupil has too little language credits from high school, but has superiorpapers com review brought rigorous alternative courses instead? Thanks for responding!

But, as a university counselor, my answer is different. I do not see any trend toward reducing foreign language objectives. At the more selective colleges, three years associated with the same language that is foreign considered minimal and four is preferable. At a number of other schools, but, including some quite selective people, 2 yrs of language is okay. Therefore if your daughter has Ivy inside her eyes, or when your crystal ball suggests that she could be applying to any of the superior papers com very competitive universities, i might urge her to carry on to match language into her routine, whether or not it means using summer classes or playing international immersion programs. (The latter can be quite costly nevertheless the previous is found at community universities near to house and even, if necessary, online.)
